Lauch of Excelwithvicky Youtube channel

Very excited to announce the launch of excelwithvicky youtube channel!

This Channel is dedicated to help students in A level chemistry. From my years of teaching A level chemistry, I observed that many students struggle learning it despite scoring distinction in O level for chemistry.  They find it extremely challenging due to the steep learning curve between between O level and A level.

To help more students do better in their A level chemistry and overcome this major hurdle before embarking on tertiary education, I will be posting videos on frequently tested concepts regularly on this channel.

My easy to understand approach as illustrated in the videos aim to assist students in learning and re-capping concepts at their convenience.

Results of Commitment and Tenacity

I have been very busy the past three months preparing my students for their prelims. But the effort from them is worth it.

I want to especially highlight three students: A PSLE student, an O level student and an A level student (taking the three key national exams in Singapore)

The O and A level students joined me “last minute” in June after fairing badly in their mid year exams for chemistry. The PSLE student was an adhoc student whom I did not teach on regular basis  as my regular p6 classes were full and he had a borderline pass in science when he joined me.

These three students had the most significant improvement in prelims even though I have taught them for barely 3 months:

PSLE from borderline pass to B

O level student from F9 (30 plus marks) to A1 (82 marks)

A level student from “U” to B

I was amazed and extremely happy to hear their results.  I am even happier to see their hard work and commitment pay off. Besides not doing well in science initially, these three students shared common traits that were crucial in their tremendous improvement:

They were very committed in coming for my lessons (e.g they were always punctual, they attended every lesson without fail)

Their homework were always done

And they make an effort to remember what I taught, revise and put them into practice.

These three students reaffirmed what I always believe in: Hard work and attitude make a big difference in whatever you want to achieve.

Wishing them all the best in their actual exams and may they continue to scale greater heights!
